FOR THE ND-04: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-03 (GS-09/11 equivalent) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional engineer coordinating or conducting design, development, test & evaluation, integration, or in-service engineering of energetic or ordnance systems (e.g.: military aircrew escape propulsion systems; explosive systems; automotive industry airbags). FOR THE ND-03: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade ND-02 (GS-05/08 equivalent) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional engineer assisting with design, development, test & evaluation, integration, or in-service engineering of energetic, ordnance, or warfare systems. You will serve as a Mechanical Engineer in the Technology Development Branch (E24) of the Research and Engineering Department (E).
You will utilize knowledge of the technology of Cartridge Actuated Devices/Propellant Actuated Devices (CAD/PAD) with regards to design, performance, testing, manufacturing, and documentation.
You will manage several individual devices and overall complex systems for CAD/PADs used in Aircrew Escape, Weapon Release and Store Release Systems.
You will develop new CADs/PADs, improve existing CADs/PADs, and conduct Qualification and Service Release.
You will develop technical approaches, develop project plans, and monitor a project's technical and financial execution.
You will develop and review test plans, reports, and Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs).
You will evaluate new technologies for CAD/PAD applications.
You will develop technical proposals to integrate the technology into the CAD/PAD product line.
You will generate funding requirements, identify funding, and provide budget input.
You will keep your supervisor/team lead informed of project status and present on project status within your management chain, other government facilities, and private industry customers.
