Job Description:
You will serve as a FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT ANALYST in the ACCOUNTING DIVISION, COMPTROLLER DEPARTMENT of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.
GS-0501-07 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: * Experience in using budgetary, accounting, financial administration, financial practices, procedures, regulations and policies of an organization. * Experience checking the accuracy and consistency of extracted data from documents or records. * Experience working independently on routine and continuing assignments. * Experience locating and selecting the appropriate guidelines and instructions to solve any problem or issues. GS-0501-05 Your resume must demonstrate at least 3 years of General Experience, 1 year of which is equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. General experience must demonstrate the following: * Experience preparing preliminary budget estimates, financial reviews, etc. * Experience communicating factual information orally and in writing. * Experience explaining reasons for changes in funding needs and conveying information about certain rules and regulations. * Experience performing tasks which require analytical reasoning/studies and finished reports. You will assist in the performance of functions such as the formulation of budget and estimates to support plans, programs, and activities.
You will perform specialized work involving managerial or administrative work in connection with accounting systems.
You will researches guides to locate accounting, budgetary and financial information and prepares summaries for use by managers.
You will track and control funds for special programs and conduct work pertaining to payroll, cash control, or benefit systems.
