Job Description:

This position is located at Great Lakes Consolidated Mail Outpatient Pharmacy (CMOP). The purpose of this position is to provide support work to ensure effective procurement operations and an effective equipment program. The incumbent performs a variety of duties to include but are not limited to spot checking inventory, product research, clerical, property management, reverse distribution, processing recalled product, and miscellaneous duties as assigned.
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 11/19/2025. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-06. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment. You may qualify based on your experience as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-06 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Comprehensive knowledge of procurement related materials, federal property management regulations, VA regulations, directives, handbooks, and bulletins. Experience with AEMS/MERS equipment packaging, bar coding, scanner operation, and a thorough knowledge of inventory management and control principles. Experience updating and maintaining Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word documents. Experience conducting research utilizing VA and federal regulations, FDA regulations, medical center policies, pharmaceutical references, catalogs, and pamphlets. Experience unpacking supplies from shipping cartons, properly scanning bar codes, and storing supplies/materials in accordance with established guidelines, utilizing a computerized inventory system. NOTE: As a general rule, education is not creditable above GS-5 for most positions covered by this standard; however, graduate education may be credited in those few instances where the graduate education is directly related to the work of the position. One full year of graduate education (18 semester hours) meets the requirements for GS-7. Coordinates the functions of the property management program. Serves as the primary for data collection, data review, and reconciliation. Performing work in support of purchasing and/or procurement of services, products, supplies, and/or small purchase procedures. Returning damaged and expired drugs through the reverse distribution vendor monthly and all patient returns on a weekly basis. Monitor recall website, email messages, and notifications from vendors/manufacturers, etc. and follow through from notification, investigation, and action of recalled products. Quarantines all recalled products and works with distributor/vendor to arrange for return credit, and processes this through the Reverse Distributor if necessary. Make all necessary inventory adjustments to remove recalled products from the inventory management system to ensure the correct product is pulled, each recall is reviewed; ensure that the recall website is updated documenting the action taken.
