Job Description:
You will serve as a SUPERVISORY ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the COMBAT SYSTEMS DIVISION of the PLANNING AND ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT of PSNS and IMF.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Planning and directing project operations associated with the overhaul, maintenance, repair and testing of combat systems, components and support systems onboard submarines and surface ships. You will be responsible and accountable for the proper direction and accomplishment of all testing of ship systems and components for Combat Systems and support systems.
You will coordinate across organizational lines within all shipyard departments and with various NAVSEA and contractor representatives.
You will develop test sequences and administrative procedures required to assure that all tests of ships systems and components are performed in accordance with approved specifications.
You will be directly involved in the certification of combat systems and equipment to support critical mission-related operations on both surface ships and submarines.
You will ensure that testing prerequisites that affect ship's conditions are identified and authorized for accomplishment on the Ship's Plan-of-the-Day .
You will provide direction for preparation of sea trial agendas and the overall direction for the conduct of assigned sea trials.
