To qualify for the position of Secretary (Office Automation), at GS-0986-09, you must meet the qualification requirements listed below. One year of full-time specialized experience equivalent to the GS-08 level in Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience performing a wide range of high-level secretarial and administrative support functions, including managing the schedule, travel, commitments and correspondence of the executive; arranging high level meetings; and dealing with senior executives. You MUST meet all qualification requirements, including time-in-grade, by the closing date of this announcement. To be qualified, you must type at least 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. (A typing test may later be required.) Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP)- The ICTAP provides eligible displaced Federal competitive service employees with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies. If your agency has notified you in writing that you are a displaced employee eligible for ICTAP consideration, you may receive selection priority if: 1) this vacancy is within your ICTAP eligibility; 2) you apply under the instructions in the announcement; and 3) you are found well-qualified for this vacancy. The duties and responsibilities for a Secretary (Office Automation), GS-0986-09 generally include, but are not limited to the following: Serving as the Executive Assistant to both the United States Attorney (USA) and the First Assistant United States Attorney (FAUSA) providing a wide variety of technical and administrative support services. Managing and overseeing the day-to-day activities of the immediate office of the USA and FAUSA; Screening telephone calls and visitors desiring to speak with the USA and FAUSA; Arranging conferences and meetings for the USA and FAUSA; Reviewing all outgoing correspondence prepared for the USA and FAUSA's signature, e.g., action documents, case files, legal documents, and reports; Exercising control over the USA and FAUSA's calendar for all appointments, meetings, engagements, and conferences; Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.
