You will serve as Distinguished Scientist/Engineer for Advanced Electromagnetic Warfare (EW) of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER. The Secretary of Defense has ordered a department-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the DoD hiring freeze. Offers of employment related to this vacancy announcement will not be executed until the position has an approved exemption.

You will provide technical leadership for the full spectrum of science and engineering functions in research, design, test and evaluation of Electromagnetic Warfare (EW) systems and technologies.
You will provide technical leadership on the integration of non-kinetic capabilities with kinetic capabilities in support of Navy missions.
You will provide technical leadership in the adaptation of cognitive/adaptive and distributed/netted technical capabilities into EW systems.
You will oversee the development of concepts, strategies and formulation of Electromagnetic Warfare technology initiatives.
You will provide senior technical consultation, recommendations and expert advice to the Department of Navy (DON) and the Department of Defense (DOD) in the area of Electromagnetic Warfare.
You will lead research teams conducting S and T R and D for advanced concepts in Electromagnetic Warfare and personally performs R and D on advanced EW concepts.
