This position is located at Physical Fitness Centers, Fort Bragg, NC.. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid. Army NAF pay setting rules apply to this vacancy.
Resumes must be two pages (or less). Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position. A qualified candidate must possess the following: Possesses directly related work experience in planning, supervising, administering or carrying out a sports program that included a variety of individual and team sports and guiding participants in developing the skills needed for participation in sports activities and teaching the techniques of various sports. Experience that includes the demonstrated ability to manage and operate complex multiple fitness facilities. The related work experience must have been equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level. In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified": Candidates who possess a combination of education (an undergraduate in related fields such as physical education or kinesiology) and the ability, knowledge and skills to perform the duties identified above. Possesses MWR Sports and Fitness Administration Course and Lifeguard Management Certifications. In order to be considered for the highly preferred criteria, your resume must show that you meet BOTH the minimum qualifications, and ALL of the highly preferred criteria. Applicants meeting ALL criteria will be considered the best qualified and will be referred to the selecting official first. Remaining applicants will be referred for consideration if the certificate (referral list) is returned with no selection.
Supervises and oversees the management and operation of a Fitness Facility.
Establishes employee work schedules and performance objectives and appraisals.
Serves as facility expert for major and minor construction projects, providing input to PW and contractors on work plans, schedules, methods, objectives and impact of work.
Publicizes sports facilities, programs and events by writing articles for local newspapers and coordinates with marketing for posters, flyers and other promotional material.
Oversees the inventory of property; fitness equipment condition; tracks maintenance and repair or replacement as appropriate. Works with fitness facility staff to recommend purchase/construction of equipment and facilities.
