Job Description:

You will serve as the PUBLIC AFFAIRS SPECIALIST for the Center for Service Support (CSS) domain overseeing Public Affairs policy, strategy, operations, initiatives, and compliance across five geographically dispersed learning sites.CENTER FOR SERVICE SUPPORT.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Developing new information materials including news releases, fact sheets, brochures, booklets, broadcast spots, etc., that increase communication regarding an organization to the public; 2) Providing representatives of the print and broadcast media, trade associations, and industrial representatives with timely and accurate explanations of agency policies and regulations; 3) Interacting with a variety of public personnel including organization personnel, media representatives, public officials, and/or members of the general public as a representative for an organization; and 4) Analyzing information program materials and offer recommendations for improving the delivery of information to a targeted audience. You will administer public affairs programs and activities and identify program requirements, the nature of the information required, the needs of the targeted audience, and the most appropriate means of disseminating the information.
You will collect and disseminate informational materials aimed at enhancing the external public's understanding of the organization's programs, accomplishments, and events.
You will coordinate the organization's participation in events performing duties such as organizing the availability of personnel/equipment, directing the set-up of exhibits, and preparing presentations.
You will perform a variety of internal information/relations assignments, e.g., writes news and articles for inclusion in the organization's newspaper or other internal publications such as newsletters and bulletins.
You will plan and develop public affairs videos and manage social media sites for the command.
