Job Description:

You will serve as a CAREER RESOURCE ASSISTANT at MARINE CORPS RECRUIT DEPOT. As a Career Resources Assistant with the Transition Readiness Program, you will be a crucial member of the Marine and Family Programs team, providing a wide range of administrative, clerical, and client support services. Your role is vital in assisting military members and their families as they transition to civilian life, ensuring they meet all congressionally mandated requirements.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Performing a variety of administrative and clerical duties in a professional office environment, such as managing calendars, scheduling appointments, and creating correspondence; AND providing direct customer service and program support to clients, including answering inquiries and coordinating logistics for events or meetings. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
You will serve as the first point of contact for the program, greeting clients, identifying their needs, and providing warm handoffs to appropriate service providers.
You will assist clients by scheduling transition assistance activities, including counseling and classes, and provide follow-up communication to ensure their needs are met.
You will manage and maintain appointment calendars for the Transition Readiness Program office.
You will draft and proofread complex correspondence, ensuring adherence to applicable guidelines and Naval correspondence manuals.
You will produce spreadsheets, graphs, charts, and reports, and compiling administrative reports as needed.
You will support all administrative-related duties associated with inspections and program certifications.
You will maintain program literature, materials, and marketing resources.
You will coordinate and scheduling seminars, workshops, courses, and events, including career fairs and training sessions.
You will arrange for necessary audio-visual equipment, classroom setup, and meeting logistics.
