In addition to the basic education requirement, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialist experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Professional engineering experience in managing projects, budgets, and staff performance, while providing expert guidance to senior leaders on technical issues and complex systems and equipment development. You will lead and supervise multidisciplinary engineering work, managing teams across two or more engineering fields and ensuring high-quality technical output.
You will serve as a nationally recognized expert, overseeing advanced system/equipment development, acquisition, and application of complex engineering theories and methods.
You will identify and implement technical solutions, independently assessing risks, resolving complex engineering challenges, and ensuring accuracy and reliability across program areas.
You will provide authoritative technical guidance, advising senior leaders and engineers on critical issues, conducting pioneering research, and maintaining expertise in cutting-edge technologies.
You will manage program resources and operations, including budget planning, project oversight, stakeholder coordination, and full supervisory responsibilities such as assigning work, evaluating performance, and supporting staff development.
