Job Description:
This position is located within the Environmental Management Services Division of a VA Medical Center. This position is under the direct supervision of the Housekeeping Supervisor or designee. This position performs both janitorial and custodial services. Work is regularly performed by hand and with light and heavy-powered (industrial-type) cleaning equipment.

Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Federal Wage System Qualification Standards. SCREEN-OUT ELEMENT: Your qualifications will first be evaluated against the prescribed screen out element, which usually appears as question 1 in the on-line questionnaire. Those applicants who appear to possess at least the minimal acceptable qualification requirement are considered for further rating; those who do not are rated ineligible and are eliminated. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Cleans (hand wipes) rolling stock: IV poles, Vasopress DVT, Covidien feeding pumps, Gomco mobile pumps, Flowtron DVT, Gaymar T-pumps, Sscor Duet suction pumps, 3M Ranger blood warmer, CSZ Hyperthermia unit, and Philips Defibrillator. Other duties may include but are not limited to: cleaning rolling stock such as beds, wheelchairs, feeder chairs, shower chairs, medicine carts, red crash carts, potty chairs, scales, transport carts, over bed tables, walkers, monitor stands, linen carts, trash cans,checking entrance ways and elevators for cleanliness, ensuring six month patient curtain rotation is complete, and other like assignments given by a housekeeping supervisor. Incumbent must observe prescribed safety practices and aseptic techniques to protect self and others from injury or infection. Performs other related duties as assigned.
