Job Description:

You will serve as an ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT ASSISTANT for NTTC. The Secretary of Defense has ordered a department-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the DoD hiring freeze. Offers of employment related to this vacancy announcement will not be executed until the position has an approved exemption.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-05) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Communicating effectively, both orally and in writing, sufficient to respond to routine queries; 2) Preparing and reviewing correspondence, documents, and reports to ensure accurate spelling, formatting, and compliance with established procedures; 3) Utilizing automated systems and software programs to create, edit, reformat, revise, calculate, retrieve, store, and print a wide variety of documents, spreadsheets, graphics, and tables; 4) Resolving administrative issues by identifying problems, applying procedural guidance, and taking action to prevent disruptions to office operations; and 5) Managing routine office tasks by answering calls, maintaining records, organizing information, and supporting overall workflow and administrative efficiency. You will manage assigned local programs such as protocol, naval instructions, enlisted evaluations, commissioned officer fitness reports, naval messages, and/or military awards.
You will serve as a Command Pay and Personnel Administrator to ensure that all documents and information required to provide Sailor personnel or pay support are correct.
You will support a rolling population of 2,600 students annually by processing incoming and outgoing mail, maintaining a mail log, and ensuring the security of postal effects and mail matters, and adheres to all postal regulations and procedures.
You will prepare, receive, review, and verify documents, maintain office records, compile information and create reports, maintain a calendar, and keep the staff informed of deadlines.
You will respond to information requests on topics related to the mission, products, or services of the organization.
