Job Description:

You will serve as a MAINTENANCE READINESS OFFICER in the Force Maintenance & Logistics Division (N4) of PAC FLEET SUB FORCE OPS COMPONENT. The Secretary of Defense has ordered a department-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the DoD hiring freeze. Offers of employment related to this vacancy announcement will not be executed until the position has an approved exemption.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: utilizing a wide-ranging background in ship maintenance and organization, managing all matters associated with material readiness of nuclear-powered ships and demonstrating a comprehensive knowledge of the overall technical and engineering aspects of Submarine Force nuclear powered ships. Examples include: addressing complex Fleet Maintenance issues and recommending problem resolutions, assigning project officers, allocating resources, and setting priorities for development of policies, procedures and specific program plans, budget and milestones, and making vital decisions on the scope of work, schedules, priorities, personnel assignments, and professional and technical development. You will manage all matters associated with material readiness of nuclear-powered ships and demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge in the overall technical and engineering aspects of Submarine Force nuclear powered ships.
You will be responsible for overall program management (program analysis, financial management, program administration, and program integration) for the Department of Navy.
You will address complex Fleet Maintenance issues and recommend problem resolutions.
You will assign project officers, allocate resources, and set priorities for development of policies, procedures and specific program plans, budget and milestones.
You will determine long range plans for maintenance policies and programs to support changing national commitments and force structures.
You will manage staff with an array of professional or technical experience and make vital decisions on the scope of work, schedules, priorities, personnel assignments, and professional and technical development.
You will analyze force maintenance environmental and safety programs to ensure proper interpretation and application of regulations, laws and policy directives, technical accuracy and resource adequacy.
You will respond to congressional inquiries related to maintenance and logistics of submarines and surface ships.
