Required Qualifications: Applicants must possess a J.D. Degree, be an active member of the bar (any U.S. jurisdiction), and have at least one (1) year post-J.D. legal or other relevant experience. Applicant must possess superior oral and written communication skills, as well as strong character and interpersonal skills; have demonstrated the capacity to function, with minimal guidance, in a highly demanding environment. United States citizenship is required for consideration. Preferred Qualifications: Outstanding academic record; complex litigation experience involving white collar or civil litigation; exceptional research and writing ability; the ability to successfully represent the interest of the United States in federal court; the ability to handle and successfully manage a heavy case load involving complex cases. In the Civil Division, you will be part of a team responsible for protecting the rights and interest of the American people by legal representation, enforcement of Federal laws, and defense of U.S. interests. Our Civil Division effectively represents the interests of the United Sates in al civil matters for which the Department of Justice has jurisdiction. This position will require practice the area of, among other things, federal torts, Title VII, and other miscellaneous civil defense matters. Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.
