To qualify for a Troop Support Planner, your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Apply military planning, policies, and wartime/emergency logistics doctrines to develop, evaluate, and integrate contingency, emergency, and wartime logistics support plans. Utilizes military command structures, missions, programs, and interagency relationships to assess logistics readiness, interpret policy, and support missions, functions, and organizational objectives. Interprets and applies logistics management concepts, regulatory requirements, and planning methodologies, including supply, storage, transportation, property disposal, and distribution. Integrates advanced management systems, organizational practices, and evaluation programs to determine, plan, execute, and review complex logistics support operations, exercises, and missions. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Provides authoritative advice and technical guidance to direct the design, development, execution, and promulgation of operational and contingency plans.
Serves as the planner, advisor and consultant to the assigned commands regarding logistics planning in support of DoD Executive Agent supply chain.
Evaluates theater/contingency operation plans and assesses DLA Troop Support’s supporting tasks and missions.
Resolves operation plan shortfalls, limitations and other conditions that impact DLA’s ability to perform its wartime logistics support mission.
Continually monitors agency planning initiative, and new initiatives in order to provide information for use by officials.
Evaluates theater operations and determines DLA supporting tasks and missions through day-to-day analysis and periodic testing during command exercises.
Collects and evaluates exercise and/or contingency operations, After Action Reports (AARs), and lessons learned to use as a basis for improving and revising DoD and DLA doctrine, directives, instructions or support plans.
