This vacancy is for a GS-2010-11, Inventory Management Specialist located in the Department of Homeland Security, United States Coast Guard, Planning & Estimating Branch, Coast Guard YARD, Industrial Department, Baltimore, MD.
Basic Requirements: This position has a positive Education Requirement in addition to at least one year of Specialized Experience or substitution of education for experience or combination (if applicable) in order to be found minimally qualified. You MUST meet the following requirements: EDUCATION: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related AND To qualify at the GS-11 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-9 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include performing the following types of tasks on a regular and recurring basis. Experience reviewing and understanding repair specifications, technical manuals, and drawing material lists. Experience working with procurement and processing costs. Experience analyzing data and measure supply chain performance. You will serve as an Inventory Management Specialist and be responsible for managing inventories that are requirements driven and linked to planned work; managing government inventories and supports contractor owned inventories. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Reviewing workload schedules and material lists to identify what and how much material will be needed. Develop long term supplier relationships. Ensure shop inventory materials are correctly identified, and that project materials are marked for purpose (work items or shop stock). Use a government credit card to provide materials directly to shops. Conduct market research for pricing and availability Generate Procurement Requests and provide supporting documentation Provide Post Award Administration for Open Market and Milstrip requisitions Computer software commonly used: NESSS, FedMALL, WebFLIS, OneTouch, SFLC Central, WebSDR, Outlook, Excell, and Word. Specialized training required within 24 months of hiring and maintain: Complete all training requirements necessary to obtain and use a government credit card. Complete Industrial Project Management System training necessary to manage material lists. Certified as a Department of Homeland Security COR Level II (Services).
