Job Description:

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a DIRECTOR OF MISSION SYSTEMS (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D1831000 and is part of the NC ANG, National Guard (ANG- 118th ASOS / PN 00110166834).
Military Grades: Enlisted (TSgt to MSgt) Minimum Requirements: Experience, education, or training which provided a general knowledge of principles of organization, management, and administration. Experience using computer and automation systems. Specialized Experience: Must have at least 36 months experience, education or training in program or managerial experience in a type of work or a combination of functions directly related to the position to be filled or in comparable work or functions. Experience developing and recommending policy; organizing and carrying out specific programs, evaluating and recommending changes in methods of operations. Experience in supervisory, staff or technical work which included study, analysis or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of managerial or administrative policies, practices and procedures. Experience preparing written communications and oral presentations. Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed. Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel.
As a DIRECTOR OF MISSION SYSTEMS, GS-0301-12, you will direct the installation, testing, evaluation, modification, maintenance, and reporting of the full range of Communications-Electronics (C-E) equipment and systems assigned; plan, develop, and implement local work policies, procedures, and goals for efficient operation of the subordinate functional areas; perform studies and analyzes findings regarding assigned equipment and mission requirements and directs or recommends changes or modifications to equipment or mission requirements regarding equipment requirements or adaptability of required equipment to major military components or coalition forces; provide technical assistance to organizations/units, major military components in addition to the coalition forces in establishing digital communications requirements; assign, direct, and review work of subordinates; determine proper work methods and procedures; prepare and submit budget estimates and revisions for the procurement, installation, and maintenance of equipment and supply items and identifies resource shortages or projected shortages to the Air Support Operations Group (ASOG) Commander, Air Support Operations Squadron (ASOS) Commander, Tactical Air Control Party (TACP) Commander, ANG Wing and the National Guard Bureau; ensure formulation of comprehensive training plans for each career field and specialty within the functional areas; perform other duties as assigned.
