Major Duties of this position include: As a senior Preservationist, the incumbent performs journey-level trade work related to historic preservation and provides expertise and/or training to lower-level positions. Perform a variety of journey-level preservation trade work needed to build, maintain, restore, and/or preserve historic structures and landscapes. Such structures and landscapes include but are not limited to historic buildings, ancestral Puebloan sites, monuments, memorials, markers, signs, etc. Identify and document of various forms of historic fabric. Evaluate the condition of historic masonry, wooden, and metal structural elements. Assists in the inspection of historic structures, sites, and landscapes to determine physical condition and the type and amount of maintenance required to maintain proper condition and make technical recommendations to specialists regarding preservation treatments. Read, interpret and apply building plans, specifications, blueprints, sketches, working drawings and building codes.
