This position is part of the Agency Support Operations, Government Publishing Office in Washington, District of Columbia.
To qualify for the Supervisory Distribution Facilities Specialist, PG -2030-12, you must possess at least one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade level (PG-11) performing the following tasks: Managing warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, distributing, and managing inventory of materials supplies and equipment, AND Monitoring service contract performance, AND Coordinating with internal and external customers to meet shipping and delivery needs, AND Performing leadership responsibilities, including prioritizing and delegating work, setting and adjusting short-term priorities, and evaluating work performance. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Only experience obtained by the closing date of this announcement will be considered. Manages, plans, directs, and supervises all activities involved in receiving, handling, storing, warehousing, distributing, and physically controlling materials, supplies, and equipment delivery.
Updates and oversees accountability of materials and equipment to meet production needs and deadlines.
Maintains material handling equipment, required storage facilities, and personnel numbers for efficient operation.
Oversees the recycle and reutilization programs and ensures the programs run in accordance with local and federal environmental policies.
Provides contract oversight as the Contract Officer Representative (COR) in coordination with Acquisitions Services, reviewing, monitoring, and evaluating contractor performance and customer service in the installation supply and services activities.
Directly supervises 14 or more employees, including Printing Plant Workers, Property Disposal Technicians, and Supply Technicians in the Central Receiving, Shipping, and Baling Sections.
