This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Utilizing continuing general and specialty medical advancements, especially as they relate to physical qualifications for military service: 2) Reviewing medical waiver requests to determine suitability for service in the military by summarizing relevant medical facts and considerations applicable to waiver decisions; 3) Coordinating, discussing and responding to queries, related to medical waivers with medical professionals and military leadership; 4) Reviewing medical records by interpreting consultations, evaluating laboratory results, and other data; and 5) Applying the principles of physical risk classification (taking into account operational environmental characteristics and training rigor specific to military operations) to evaluate applicant's world-wide assignability. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
You will use the experience and knowledge gained by direct patient care to review the medical waiver packages of applicants to determine suitability for Naval service.
You will request additional medical information, records, evaluations, consultation, studies and reports, required to make a waiver recommendation based on the available medical information.
You will coordinate, discuss, and respond to waiver request cases with a variety of authorized military and civilian medical professionals, administrative clients and program managers.
You will record brief, coherent notes in the currently used document management system, summarizing relevant medical facts, information, consultations, conversations, and considerations as they pertain to the applicant’s case.
You will determine recommendations for waivers of accession physical standards.
