This position is located in the Division of Depositor and Consumer Protection (DCP), Atlanta Field Office or Raleigh Field Office of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and provides support in the areas of fostering ongoing communication between banks and community-based groups, research and analysis, education, and the management of assigned projects. Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. CG-14: To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the CG-13 grade level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience developing community development-related strategic plans and collaborations; and communicating with banks and community-based organizations (CBOs) to provide information on community development issues. Communicate with community-based organizations, academia, government officials, financial institutions, and regulatory agencies regarding Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), fair lending, economic inclusion, and community development to identify and address ways to support the needs of low- and moderate-income communities and individuals. Lead production and technical aspects of in-person and/or virtual events, including but not limited to stakeholder management, coordination with technical and support teams, and set-up and testing. Conduct post-event debriefs, analyses and reports regarding participation, response and other information on the effectiveness of the events and activities. Support the examination process by providing guidance and technical assistance to examiners regarding community development and economic inclusion. Shares information to assist examiners in better understanding community credit needs. Lead in the design, delivery, marketing, and training of (CRA), community development and economic inclusion materials and products, either individually or in collaboration with other DCP regions, government and regulatory agencies, and private organizations, for the benefit of examiners, bankers, and community representatives. Represent the FDIC as speaker or participant as designated, at events designed to educate financial institutions, community representatives and others with respect to community development and economic inclusion. Support the Regional Manager (RM) in monitoring and evaluate the region's progress towards regional plans and programs pertaining to FDIC corporate, divisional and community affairs mission, goals and objectives and recommends adjustments as necessary. Conduct meetings, briefings and other presentations to senior management, supervisors, and others concerning community affairs initiatives. Reviews written work products prior to distribution.
