Job Description:
You will serve as a PROTOCOL SPECIALIST in the Protocol Office at the United States Naval Academy (USNA).
FOR THE GS-07 POSITION: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-05) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Assisting and supporting the coordination of official hosted ceremonial and social events and functions; 2) Assist in maintaining protocol library from civilian and military sources; 3) Providing assistance drafting official correspondence and briefing materials for senior leaders and officials; and 4) Maintaining a calendar and assisting personnel and officials with scheduling; ensuring non-scheduling conflicts of events, visits, and conferences. FOR THE GS-09 POSITION Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-07) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:1) Utilizing federal, state government, Department of Defense and/or Department of the Navy service etiquette protocol and customs; while implementing and performing tasks related to social, meetings, official visits and high level events; 2) Composing correspondence and ensuring quality and correctness of invitations pertaining to ceremonies, receptions, and events;3) Researching, gathering, and compiling information preparing biographies and topics of discussion; 4) Responsible for the utilizing and maintaining Government Purchase Card, and required training for the procurement and distribution of office supplies, equipment, and services. You will prepare suggested guest lists and recommend date(s) and location(s) for event(s) to be held.
You will receive visitors to the office of the Superintendent's quarters who include high-ranking U.S. and foreign officials
You will perform extensive research in order to compile biographical data on distinguished visitors, Board of Visitors, local, state and federal elected officials, alumni, senior military members and prominent civilians.
You will arrange large official receptions, garden parties, etc. which include preparing invitations, suggesting menus, and attending all events to monitor attendance and ensure events run smoothly.
You will procure and distribute office supplies, equipment and services through the use of the Government Purchase Card Program.
