Job Description:

This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Office of the Administrator (OA). As a Management and Program Analyst, GS-0343-14, you will providing authoritative analytical, advisory, and executive support to the Chief of Staff and other OA senior leadership.

In order to qualify for the GS-14 , you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: Applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to recommend improvements to administrative operations; AND Coordinating with internal or external stakeholders regarding responses to action items, inquiries, correspondence or to resolve issues; AND Serving as a point-of-contact for program and operational management issues and requests. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Develop both short-term and long-range project plans, including enterprise governance processes, program goals, objectives and operational calendars aligned with enterprise priorities.
Provide guidance and coordination on policies, processes and procedures as well as handling sensitive and confidential information related to planning, policy analysis and regulatory formulation processes for CMS programs
Serve as an Executive Assistant to the Chief of Staff, with the authority to oversee and prioritize the handling of issues, documents, and materials on the Chief’s behalf.
Coordinate all official travel arrangements, including agendas, meetings transportation, lodging, and preparation of post travel vouchers and reports.
Review and analyze papers and special project reports submitted by components and OA staff to determine adequacy, validity and consistency with senior leadership and CMS operational objectives.
