About the Position: This position is located at Madigan Army Medical Center (MAMC), Tacoma, WA.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) MATERIALS EXPEDITER ~ without more than normal supervision. Ability to process, handle, store and issue a variety of parts, tools, and equipment used by employees involved in various trades. Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specifications, etc. (Other Than Blueprint Reading) Dexterity and Safety Knowledge of Materials Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic) Work Practices (Including Keeping Things Neat, Clean, and in Order) Physical Effort: Work on hard surfaces and in work areas that require standing, stooping, bending, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. May be required to work at a rapid pace for long periods at a time. Frequently lifts and carries supplies, materials, and equipment that weigh up to 60 pounds. Occasionally handles items that weigh in excess of 60 pounds. Working Conditions: Work inside and outside; works inside in areas hot, cold, damp, drafty, or poorly lighted. Occasionally works in bad weather in outside areas such as open docks. Work may be dirty, dusty, and greasy. Frequently exposed to possibility of cuts, scrapes, bruises, from falling stock, falls from ladders, or injury from materials handling equipment.
Receives various kinds of acquisition requests (e.g., bill of materials, credit card acquisition requests, service order/individual job order material requests, automated facilities management minimum inventory reordering notices, etc.)
Changes trade name items to complete nomenclature for purchase through procurement channels
Provides information concerning material planning, specifics ordering information, and general availability of supplies, material and services
Cleans and lubricates tools for issue.
Receives stores, issues and inventories a variety of parts, tools, and equipment used by employees involved in various trades
