To qualify for the Materials Handler (Forklift Operator), KX-6907-05 position, applicants must meet the following Screen Out-Element: #1 - Ability to Do the Work of the Position without More Than Normal Supervision Your qualifications will first be evaluated against the prescribed screen out element, which usually appears as question 1 in the online questionnaire. If your knowledge and ability in the SCREEN OUT ELEMENT below is not sufficient, you will not receive further consideration. In addition to the SCREENOUT, applicants must also have the ability to perform the following: Prepares documents and labels for shipment. Inspects product loads for accuracy and safely moves products through facility. Operates electric, gasoline, or diesel-powered forklift trucks. Locates, accesses, loads/unloads and moves materials, using load-and-unload skids, pallets, cartons of publications or other materials, high reach forklifts, cranes, or other transport vehicles etc. Performs routine operator maintenance, rotates stock, checks for outdated materials and maintains the appropriate safeguards and temperature controls; reports issues to the supervisor. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement to be considered.
Prepares documents and labels for shipment, manually or by using automated equipment such as computer terminals, software, or bar code wands to read, store, process, ship and or track information.
Receives, stores, selects and ships general or specialized bulk and bin materials, supplies and equipment; inspects product loads for accuracy and safely moves products through facility ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
Operates electric, gasoline, or diesel-powered forklift trucks which are capable of lifting loads weighing less than 4,500 kilograms (10,000 pounds) as high as 420 centimeters (168 inches).
Locates, accesses, loads/unloads and moves materials, organizes stock in the most efficient way, using load-and-unload skids, pallets, cartons of publications or other materials, high reach forklifts, cranes, or other transport vehicles etc.
Performs routine operator maintenance, rotates stock, checks for outdated materials and maintains the appropriate safeguards and temperature controls; reports issues to the supervisor.
