The Housekeeping Aid Leader - Environmental Services Technician is assigned to Environmental Management Service and is responsible for checking on work groups to ensure that instructions are being carried out using proper work methods and ensure established time-frames are being met in a safe and efficient manner.

EXPERIENCE: A specific length of training and experience is not required, but you must show evidence of training or experience of sufficient scope and quality of your ability to do the work of this position. Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Federal Wage System Qualification Standards. SCREEN-OUT ELEMENT: Your qualifications will first be evaluated against the prescribed screen out element, which usually appears as question 1 in the on-line questionnaire. Those applicants who appear to possess at least the minimal acceptable qualification requirement are considered for further rating; those who do not are rated ineligible and are eliminated. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Incumbent must move, use, and control heavy equipment, carry and set up ladders and scaffolding, and occasionally work from ladders. Frequently lift objects weighing over 40 pounds and occasionally over 50 pounds. Perform minor maintenance on vacuum cleaners, power scrubbers, buffers, and polishers. Clean floors using power scrubbers and buffers; washes walls using powered wall washing machines and vacuums with heavy industrial type vacuum cleaners. Work Schedule: 3pm - 11:30pm (Rotating weekends and holidays) Position Description Title/PD#: Housekeeping Aid (Leader) - Environmental Services Technician/PD08190A Physical Requirements: Frequently lift objects weighing over 40 pounds and occasionally over 50 pounds. Preferred Experience: A housekeeping aid lead needs strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills, as well as the ability to train and manage a team. They must also be detail oriented, familiar with safety regulations, and posses physical stamina. Familiarity with general cleaning tasks like dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and bathroom cleaning is often expected. Prior cleaning experience 2-3 years and ability to learn quickly. Understanding the proper use and maintenance of cleaning supplies and equipment is essential.
