Job Description:
You will serve as a SUPERVISORY GENERAL ENGINEER in the ADVANCED UNDERSEA SYSTEMS DIVISION of NAVSEA HQ FIELD SUPPORT.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-03 pay band (GS-13 equivalent) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional engineer managing various engineering disciplines (e.g. naval, electrical, structural, hydraulic, piping, life support) to develop technical, design, or modernization plans for submarine and submersible systems. You will serve as a senior engineer to manage and mentor disciplines to include naval architecture, electrical engineer, structural engineer, hydraulic engineer, piping engineer, and life support engineer.
You will monitor and drive progress on technical reviews and submittals including drawings, system diagrams, calculations, technical manuals, test procedures and test results.
You will align with the Division Director and be responsible for succession planning and recruiting, employee career planning, escalations on technical issues, technical training opportunities, and assign tasking.
You will coordinate with technical experts in NAVSEA, field activities, private shipyards, and contractors to provide comprehensive solutions.
You will lead special projects, breaking down communication barriers between the program and technical community, adjudicating differing points of view from stakeholder organizations, and helping to define available options to their associated risks.
