Job Description:

This position performs services to all plumbing systems within the park. This includes preventive maintenance to all plumbing and mechanical equipment and parts, including installing, modifying, and repairing plumbing and fixtures.
To qualify for this position, you must have sufficient knowledge and ability in the following job-related factors: Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision (SCREEN OUT) Ability To Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (includes blueprints reading) Ability To Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation Repair, etc. Measurement and Layout Technical Practices (theoretical precise, artistic) Trouble shooting SCREEN OUT: installing, modifying, maintaining, and repairing plumbing fixtures, sewage drain lines, sewage lift stations and force mains, low pressure steam, potable water lines, water mains, and fire hydrants, backflow preventers, and pumps. Packing valve stems, servicing check valves, flanges, altitude valves, gauges, regulators, installing couplings, unions, and joints, seating equipment, and all equipment used in water treatment and distribution systems. Installing and repairing submersible, grinder, and centrifugal pumps. Additional seasonal duties to include irrigation maintenance and repairs. Performs preventive maintenance to all plumbing and mechanical equipment and parts. Installs, modifies, and repairs plumbing fixtures (bathtubs, showers, toilets, sinks, water fountains, irrigation, and their associated hardware). Cleans gravity type sewage drain lines, repairs or replaces potable water lines, and makes connections and repairs to water mains and fire hydrants. Installs and repairs submersible pumps and centrifugal transfer pumps Performs all types of maintenance on wells, well seals, pumps, storage tanks, and water distribution mains. Installs and makes repairs to sewer drain systems (these include septic tanks, drain fields, sewage lift pumps, and related piping). Physical Demands: Incumbent makes repairs and installations from ladders, scaffolding, and platforms in hard-to-reach places. Often works in excavated holes in water and mud. Subjected to odors and irritants. Requires considerable standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in uncomfortable positions. Frequently lifts, carries, and sets up equipment that may exceed 50 pounds. Working Conditions: Work is done inside and outside in dirty, greasy areas. May work in all types of weather conditions, including long periods of exposure to hot sun and bad weather, such as rain, snow and/or high winds. Incumbent is exposed to dirt, dust, spray and fumes; possible bites of poisonous and nonpoisonous insects; and broken bones, cuts, bruises, etc. Must have or be able to obtain a State driver's license.
