This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Perform law enforcement work to maintain law and order, preserve the peace, protect life and civil rights, detect and investigate crimes, apprehend violators, and perform patrols.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes instructing employees in specific law enforcement tasks and techniques in accordance with established procedures; Analyze facts to identify suspects and develop case information for use in pressing charges and bringing suspects to trial; Enforce laws to protect personnel and property; and Perform law enforcement duties to include collect evidence, conduct searches, administer first aid, and prepare police reports. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08).
The incumbent serves as a Shift Supervisor for the Law Enforcement force assigned under the authority of the Senior Commander at IMCOM supported installations.
Supervisory Police Officers are responsible for responses to and investigates emergency calls, complaints and other calls for service.
Conduct traffic law enforcement patrol using specialized equipment such as radar, Lidar and breathalyzer.
Operate motor vehicles which may involve high speed pursuit of suspects. Conducts investigative stops, questions, detains, and issues traffic citations as required.
Perform protection duties to deter, detect, and deny unauthorized access at fixed installation, internal compound, and incident perimeter posts.
Protect personnel, material, tactical military assets, and high value assets by executing daily RAM and supplemental anti-terrorism measures during increased force protection conditions.
Provide input into the development of performance standards and recommend employees ratings, awards, actions and evaluations.
Provide advice, counsel, or instruction to employees on both work and administrative matters.
