This job opportunity is for an POLICE OFFICER, position description D2156000, within the 177TH SFS of the New Jersey National Guard. This vacancy announcement is a Title 32, Excepted Service position. The primary purpose of this position is to conduct formal combat arms training and maintenance activities for the Security Forces Squadron and tenant personnel. Must have law enforcement/ military police/ security experience
General Experience: Must have the following experience(s): Understanding of the basic principles and concepts of military security forces functions, laws, policies, regulations, rules, procedures, and methods Performing functions such as weapon systems and resource security, air base defense, law enforcement Handling military working dog functions or combat arms functions Specialized Experience: Must have 12 months of the following experience(s): Securing crime and incident scenes Apprehending and detaining suspects Conducting interviews of witnesses and suspects and obtains statements and testifies in official judicial proceedings. Responding to disaster and relief operations and participates in contingencies. Implementing ground weapons training programs. Controlling and safeguarding of arms, ammunition, and equipment; and, instructs ground weapons qualification training. Providing guidance on weapons placement to security forces and ground defense force commanders. Firing weapons for accuracy and serviceability. Presenting courses on training material and instruction
