This vacancy is for a GS-0301-12, Program Specialist located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, Office of Military Workforce Management -CG-WMM-1 in WASHINGTON, District of Columbia.
To qualify at the GS-12 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include performing the following types of tasks on a regular basis. Understanding typical University/college application and registration requirements. Understanding core requirements of degrees (undergraduate & graduate) typical for degree granting schools. You will serve as a Program Specialist and be responsible for overseeing and evaluating the alignment of Coast Guard sponsored undergraduate and graduate degree program content with organizational role requirements. This includes conducting comprehensive analyses to ensure that academic programs meet workforce development objectives and align with the mission-critical needs of the organization. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Reviewing proposed curriculum submissions from students, assessing their relevance and quality to ensure they meet established standards and organizational goals. Monitoring student performance and progress in both undergraduate and graduate programs. Engages stakeholders, including collaboration with academic institutions, program sponsors, and other external partners to ensure programs are effectively managed and aligned with organizational goals. Developing and presenting detailed reports, briefings, and recommendations on program completion rates, program requirements, and usage trends to leadership. Monitoring student performance and progress in both undergraduate and graduate programs. This includes tracking academic performance, identifying trends, and addressing challenges that may impact student success.
