Job Description:

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: The purpose of the position is to perform law enforcement work to maintain law and order, preserve the peace, protect life and civil rights, detect and investigate crimes, arrest or apprehend violators, and perform patrols.
Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes perform law enforcement work to maintain law and order, preserve the peace, protect life and civil rights, detect and investigate crimes, arrest or apprehend violators, and perform patrols This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
Respond to and investigates emergency calls, complaints and other calls for service.
Exercise search and arrest authority, detain witnesses, apprehens suspects, interview witnesses and other persons involved.
Conduct traffic law enforcement patrol using specialized equipment such as radar, Lidar and breathalyzer.
Operate motor vehicle which may involve high speed pursuit of suspects.
Perform protection duties to deter, detect, and deny unauthorized access at fixed installation, internal compound, and incident perimeter posts.
Operate the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) terminal in accordance with federal and state laws to transcribe data.
Use word processing and web-based law enforcement computer programs to establish, update, query or print detailed reports, forms, and citations concerning all incidents.
Assure criminal or Antiterrorism/Force Protection (AT/FP) measures are met to protect installation command and assure mission accomplishment.
