GS-07 QUALIFICATIONS One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-06) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. GS-07: Specialized Experience Is Defined As: Maintaining accounting or financial ledgers, posting financial transactions, preparing accounting reports, reconciling accounts and working with a variety of accounting and automated financial system. Time-in-Grade for GS-7: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. To be considered for the GS-07, applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-06 or higher in the Federal service. You may qualify for consideration if meeting time-in grade, specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.
Performs administrative and technical functions to ensure the integrity of the general ledger.
Reconciles electronic interfaces to general ledger from other systems.
Reconciles subsidiary ledgers to control/summary accounts.
Reviews and processes unusual or difficult accounting transactions ensuring the propriety and validity of supporting documentation and determining the appropriate account and methodology for processing.
Compiles, analyzes, and summarizes data from systems, documents, and reports.
Identifies trends, discrepancies, and patterns for further analysis by accountants.
