Job Description:

You will serve as a PHYSICAL SCIENTIST (FLEET GEOSPACIAL INFORMATION & SERVICES) for the DIRECTOR MARITIME INFORMATION WARFARE of COMMANDER US PACIFIC FLEET.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector applying professional expertise of geospatial information and systems (GIS), services, and software (e.g., ESRI ArcGIS, CARIS BASE Editor) to develop, plan, and monitor fleet geospatial policies and operating requirements for GIS activities (e.g., navigation, mission planning, operational intelligence, information dominance). You will serve as the Fleet Geospatial Information and Services (GIS) Officer responsible for planning, organizing, implementing, and monitoring GIS policy for U.S. Pacific Fleet (USPACFLT).
You will develop and maintain USPACFLT GlS policy directives, instructions, and other correspondence.
You will provide GIS knowledge and product support to the USPACFLT staff for current and future Fleet plans, special programs, operations, activities and investments (OAIs).
You will plan and execute approaches to problem solutions by reviewing existing methods, definition of problem areas, and selection of the appropriate GIS techniques and methodology.
You will coordinate with OPNAV, NGA, DLA, NOAA, USCG, USACE, Naval System Commands, Fleet Commanders and other organizations with the tasking, collection, production, exploitation and distribution of GIS products and services.
