GS-12 : You must have one year of specialized experience at the GS-11 or equivalent level. Specialized experience must be documented in your resume. Specialized experience is defined as: Experience as a Paralegal in one or more of the following areas in support of legal and ethics research; or contract and civil litigation; or fiscal law or administrative law, or trial reports preparations, or special projects related to personal litigation and contract matters. The position is located in the DCAA Office of General Counsel (OGC) and reports to the Deputy General Counsel (DGC) for Audit and Contract Litigation (DGC-A) under the general supervision of the General Counsel (GC).
Provides paralegal services in all facets of contract and civil litigation in support of Department of Defense (DOD), military departments (MILDEPs), and other executive agencies.
Manages logistical matters and other support for depositions, teleconferences and trials, coordinating with other Federal, State and local agencies, attorneys, witnesses and experts, and briefing staff attorneys on issues.
Serves as a primary point of contact for discovery associated with civil litigation, including contract claims and appeals, torts, regulatory appeals, and other legal actions.
Conducts extensive, specialized, independent legal research of legal materials laws, legislative history, cases and orders (direct or primary sources), judicial and administrative precedential decisions, Federal regulations, and manuals.
