Job Description:

You will serve as an ENGINEER/SCIENTIST in the Electromagnetic and Sensor Systems Department of NAVSURFWARCENDLD.
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower pay band, ND-04 (GS-12/13 equivalency), in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: As a professional engineer or scientist applying system engineering principles to oversee radar or other sensor system development in a financially and time constrained environment without jeopardizing technical rigor. Examples may include: (1) leading staff and technical reviews to a diverse team of scientists, engineers, and other system safety personnel (2) advising and proposing technical recommendations to leadership on the development of state of the art Naval sensor systems (3) collaborating with stakeholders on the development, update, and application of processes, methodologies, and analyses associated with sensor system engineering. You will be responsible for assessing current capabilities and shortfalls to replan current efforts as needed and/or develop POM papers to seek funding for new capabilities.
You will ensure proper system engineering processes are followed for all SPY-6 Family of Radars (FoR) system engineering and software engineering tasks led by PEO IWS 2.0.
You will provide insight into cost, schedule, and technical execution forecasting, planning and monitoring.
You will serve as the Chief Engineer for the AN/SPY-6 Family of Radars (FoR), an Acquisition Category (ACAT) IC program, overseeing the procurement, backfit, and development of the AN/SPY-6(V)1/2/3/4 variants and associated advanced radar projects.
You will serve as a principal technical manager, evaluating system requirements, performance, and integration activities across the FoR.
You will maintain the program plan for the ASPIRE FNC Hardware Transition Project, ADR Project, SPY-6 Spectrum Sharing Project, and STORM FNC Transition Project.
You will interface with external organizations and Prime Contractors for the radar and combat system, multiple PEOs to develop SPY-6 System Engineering Plans.
You will interact with external organizations to resolve problems, overcome obstacles, and respond to requests for information or clarifications on engineering activities or issues that could impact development, integration, or deployment.
You will provide expert advice and oversee implementation of acquisition plans, mission requirements, performance predictions, test and evaluation, and support business cases to drive capability investments.
