THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for aT5 SEXUAL ASSAULT PREVENTION RESPONSE VICTIM ADVOCATE (SAPR VA) , Position Description Number PDT5920000 and is part of theSC J11, South Carolina National Guard.
AREA OF CONSIDERATION (AOC): This is a Title 5 "Excepted Service " position under the authority of Title V, P.L. 114-328, Sections 932 and 1084 (FY17 NDAA)", and is open to US citizens interested in helping the Department of the Army meet our mission requirements. This position is open to Area 1 Only. Please note that applicants outside of these categories may not be considered. First Area: Current permanent employees of the SCNG. Second Area: Current members of the SCNG. Third Area: Any individual eligible for membership in the SCNG. *Temporary and Indefinite employees do not meet permanent tenure requirements and are not eligible for Area 1. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position that included at least 24 semester hours of course work in the behavioral or social sciences. Or Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field that included at least 24 semester hours of course work in the behavioral or social sciences. Or Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Experience, education or training analyzing problems, identifying significant factors, gathering pertinent data and recognizing solutions; preparing reports, plans, policies and various correspondence; evaluating objectives and develop plans to facilitate the availability and effective utilization of various social science resources. Must have knowledge of the organization and its mission and utilized the organizational staff procedures. Experience applying analytical and evaluative techniques to issues or studies concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of social science program operations carried out by administrative or professional personnel, or substantive administrative support functions. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT & NOTES: 1. The incumbent of this position description must have, at a minimum, a completed National Agency. 2. Irregular and overtime hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies. 3. This position is designated as Essential Personnel and may be subject to duty in preparation for, or in response to, a state emergency or disaster declaration. This designation will not exceed 14 calendar days per year unless otherwise approved in advance by the TAG.
***This is a Title 5 National Guard Employee position description.*** Serves as the Wing/Brigade (BDE) State Sexual Assault Response Coordinator (Victim Advocate) for the military, civilians, and dependents. Providing 24/7 in-person and telephonic response, the incumbent under the supervision of the Sexual Assault Response Officer (State SAPR). The incumbent serves as the Domestic Abuse Victim Advocate (DAVA) providing assistance and advocacy for victims of spousal/intimate partner abuse, non-offensive parents/caregivers and victims of child abuse. This position will serve as facilitator to Wing/BDE State personnel regarding victim of domestic violence and child abuse appropriate responses. Work involves supervising or performing work required to manage or direct one or more programs, including appropriate supporting social science service organizations.
