Job Description:
You will serve as a Training Instructor in the Training Branch; Inspection, Test, Quality Assurance and Training Division; Lifting and Handling Department at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Kittery, Maine.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience presenting course material to personnel to include apprentices, tradespeople, engineers, supervisors, and technicians keeping good class attendance and participation. Experience training and developing personnel and adjusting course material based on class evaluation criteria and performance. Experience updating, establishing, and improving assigned courses. Experience incorporating the latest developments and integrating subjects into instruction. Experience applying practical applications of engineering and trade theories through classroom instructions, demonstrations, and mock-up simulations to include experience in electrical training. You will present courses to Lifting and Handling personnel including apprentices, trade persons, engineers, supervisors and technicians.
You will develop, revise and adapt assigned courses.
You will prepare lesson plans and training materials based on course objectives.
You will present courses to personnel and encourage good class attendance, participation and conduct.
You will evaluate instructional approach, develop student evaluation criteria and evaluate performance in training.
