THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a HR SPECIALIST (COMPENSATION/RECRUITMENT/PLACEMENT), Position Description Number T5042P01 and is part of the HUMAN RESOURCES OFFICE- ARMY, National Guard. Veterans' preference does not apply to this vacancy due to internal merit promotion. This is a temporary promotion NTE 2 years with possibility to convert to permanent without competition.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 1-year specialized experience must be equivalent to at least the next lower grade. Must have sufficient knowledge and skill to apply fundamental HR methods and practices to perform simple to moderately complex, non-controversial, reoccurring work where multiple solutions may exist. Experience making informed determinations and judgements on processes and problems of limited scope within the HR staffing specialization. Experience performing general recruitment, placement and compensation duties and responsibilities and to provide advice to both management and employees regarding moderately complex HR issues and questions. An applicant must demonstrate the specialized experience competencies (skills, knowledge, abilities and behaviors) to qualify for a position identified by its position grade and career level. Specialized experience factors encompass human resources program's business competencies, familiarity with the subject matter or processes used in human resources programs associated with DoD, U.S. Army, or U.S. Air Force. As a HR Specialist (Compensation/Recruitment/Placement), GS-0201-09, you will provide support for recruitment and placement, military technician compatibility, permanent change of station moves, pay setting, recruitment/retention/relocation (3R) incentives, advanced in-hire rates, and reduction-in-force actions. Work is performed for either Army (ARNG) or Air National Guard (ANG) full-time employees within the State.
