In addition to the basic qualification requirements above: Specialized Experience: For this position, specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience designing and implementing scalable, ethical and interpretable AI systems that support information retrieval, metadata enrichment, data modeling and multimodal search.
The Senior AI Solutions Engineer plays a key role in building enterprise software systems that leverage AI, machine learning (ML) and application programming interface (API) microservices to connect users with knowledge and insight embedded within the Gallery's vast holdings. In this position you will: Lead the design and implementation of AI-enabled systems and tools that facilitate the discovery and exploration of art, library and archives collections. Develop and maintain enterprise-grade AI services and APIs that integrate machine learning models (e.g., natural language processing, computer vision, recommendation systems, embeddings and knowledge graphs) into enterprise platforms. Work collaboratively with developers, data scientists, digital experience program leaders, curators, librarians and archivists to translate institutional research and discovery goals into AI-driven applications. Engage with the broader cultural heritage, academic and AI research communities to advance responsible innovation in AI for collections discovery.
