About the Position: Responsible for providing comprehensive occupational health services to eligible beneficiaries in the area of responsibility (AOR) for Naval Hospital Beaufort. Highly Preferred: Spirometry Technician, Occupational Hearing Conservation Technician This is a Direct Hire Solicitation This is a TERM Appointment Not to Exceed 3-years position. It is time-limited and may be extended up to a maximum of eight years.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes; patient screening to obtain medical history; conduct various screenings, such as vision, vital signs, spirometry, audiometry, and electrocardiograms (EKGs); Order labs, x-rays, immunizations, and other ancillary tests; scheduling of pre-employment, pre-placement, and termination exams. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted
Provide patient screening to obtains and review medical and/or occupational history.
Maintain medical records in accordance with applicable directives.
Assist in coordinating the patient flow throughout the clinic.
Facilitate the safe and effective operation of medical equipment and contributes to a safe working environment.
Perform various screenings, such as vision, vital signs, spirometry, audiometry, and electrocardiograms (EKGs) and reviews results for completeness and accuracy.
Evaluate workplace compliance with occupational health education requirements.
Provide briefings on the Occupational Health Program to new employees, supervisors, and commanders.
Provide assistance with management, preparation of employee's health records.
Assist in patient reception and with answering telephones.
