This vacancy is for a WG-4204-10, Pipefitter located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), United States Coast Guard (USCG), Logcom, Base Cape Cod, Facilities Engineering Department in Buzzards Bay, MA.

You will serve as a Pipefitter and be responsible for the installation, modification, and repair of high-pressure piping systems, as well as conducting inspections of, and troubleshooting, various new and existing piping systems, and identifying irregularities and existing and/or potential problems. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Assembling, installing and repairing pipes, fittings and fixtures of steam heating, sanitary and storm drainage systems, and low-pressure air according to specifications and plumbing codes. Installing and repairing commodes, lavatories, showers, water heaters, hot water tanks, water pumps, condensate pumps, sewer pumps, sludge pumps, sump pumps, garbage disposal units, dishwashers, and water softeners. Fabricating, installing, modifying, repairing, and testing of piping and tubing made from iron, steel, brass, copper, copper-nickel, stainless steel, and plastic, and a wide variety of low, medium, and high-pressure hoses. Laying out projects, taking measurements, and making templates, jigs and fixtures. Setting up system routes, placing and cutting route openings, installing regulating devices, and placing hangers for proper pitch and elevation.
