About the Position: Serves as a Supervisory Social Worker/Psychologist and Clinical Director of a substance abuse treatment facility; Supervise counselors and clerical positions. Responsible for all clinic staff; clinical and administrative activities in the Army Substance Abuse Program (ASAP).

Basic Requirement for Supervisory Counseling Psychologist (Substance Abuse): Degree: Two full academic years of graduate study directly related to professional work in counseling psychology, or a master's degree directly related to counseling psychology. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Licensure: A current, active, valid, unrestricted counseling/psychologist license from a U.S. State, District of Columbia, Commonwealth, territory, or jurisdiction is required. Basic Requirement for Supervisory Social Worker (Substance Abuse): Degree: Two full academic years of graduate study directly related to professional work in social work, or a master's degree directly related to social work. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Licensure: The Supervisory Social Worker (Substance Abuse) position requires a current, active, valid, unrestricted clinical license to practice Social Work independently, offered by a U.S. State, District of Columbia, commonwealth, territory or jurisdiction. (Note: You must attach a copy of your license.) Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing counseling for substance abuse patients, overseeing substance abuse treatment performed by other counselors, and planning work of subordinates. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Evaluates, monitors, and approves use of civilian community resources on a regional basis.
