Job Description:

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (POLICY & PLANNING) in the INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY DIVISION of PRIORITY MATERIAL OFFICE.

Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: planning and scheduling the installation of new or modified hardware, operating systems, and applications software. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: formulating courses of action for correcting configuration management problems that may exist with internal and external providers and stakeholders. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: recommending improvements to IT related systems to identify areas of potential risk or resistance to change and develops specific plans to mitigate them. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: developing and implementing IT acquisition management, system analysis and configuration management to correct existing or anticipated discrepancies or problems. Additionally, Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-12) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Providing recommendations for the planning, analysis, development, implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of information systems security programs in order to ensure compliance with DoN, DoW, and Information Security policy and regulations; coordinating policy management for the Priority Requisition Information management Enterprise (PRIME) program; and interpreting information security/assurance policies, principles, and practices in order to provide guidance to customers. You will be responsible for keeping department personnel goals and performance in alignment with the organization's goals and the mission of the command.
You will plan, direct, and administer the work of the department through analysis of workload, determination of priorities, assignment of tasks and provide redirection as required
You will establish work and training plans, recruitment and retention initiatives and be responsible for conflict resolution concerning personnel and resources.
You will develop and maintain long and short range strategic plans for current and future business environments.
You will initiate and lead analytical projects and implement steps to reduce process complexity and improve speed and quality of work.
You will be responsible for IT acquisition management, systems analysis and configuration management and control of the Command's IT resources.
You will apply expert knowledge of the entire IT field with emphasis on application software development and data management or analysis.
