About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Joint Base Charleston or Naval Weapons Station Base Pool. Will be determined by the facility. May have to work at both the Charleston Air Force Base and Weapon Station which is be determined by the facility. Physical Effort: Must be physically fit and be capable of lifting and moving up to 40 pounds.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Applicant must be a junior or senior college student in an approved recreation, physical education, or leisure management program which requires approved student work experience for graduation. Must satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical. Must be physically fit and capable of lifting and moving up to 40 pounds. THIS IS A DRUG TESTING DESIGNATED POSITION. THE INCUMBENT IS SUBJECT TO RANDOM TESTING FOR DRUG USE. (IAW AFI 44-107 DTD 7 APRIL 2010) You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
In compliance with instructions from and training by the supervisor and procedures learned through the education process, the intern formulates recreation programs, develops publicity requests, organizes program materials, and staffing support. The intern assists with development of budget requests, facility improvement plans, and needs assessments. Performs general administrative management duties based on local policies and procedures. Completes required forms, reports, and documents for daily and monthly reporting. Position is a position of trust. Intern must satisfactorily complete all requirements of the educational institution's intern program. Intern must also perform duties outlined by the training supervisor in a professional manner. Intern must maintain a cooperative and harmonious working relationship with other staff members. Must be courteous and exercise diplomacy and tact when dealing with co-workers, supervisors, and customers. Expected to have no more than two (2) valid customer complaints per rating cycle. Cash handling procedures must be adhered to with no more than four (4) minor errors per rating cycle permitted. Minor errors are classified as overages or shortages of$10.00 or less. Must submit required reports and documents in proper format IAW proper procedures within time frames established by supervisor, with no more than four (4) submissions submitted with erroneous information or improper format per rating cycle. Expected to adhere to all fire, safety, and security regulations and practices with no more than (l) violation per rating cycle. Provides accurate guidance and assistance to patrons concerning program events, tickets, fees, equipment, instructions, etc. Resolves problems promptly with minimal adverse impact to the customer and to the activity. Promptly notifies management of problem areas and trends. Carries out oral and written instructions acceptably and within required time frames. Adequately coordinates, assists and arranges details of activities and events. This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use.
