Job Description:
You will serve as a ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (MECHANICAL) in the ENGINEERING AND PLANNING DEPARTMENT, CODE 260.3 or CODE 294S, of PSNS and IMF.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing technical engineering services involving the maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of mechanical systems on weight handling equipment, material handling and rigging equipment used to support shipyard operations. You will develop technical work documents, quality assurance forms and write correspondence such as Letters and LARs.
You will perform analysis and special studies for the purpose of developing or evaluating improvements in design, maintenance procedures or materials for assigned systems.
You will perform functional checkout, grooming, adjustment and test of new or modernized ship systems in an operational evaluation environment.
You will evaluate ship repair/overhaul or test and grooming problems to diagnose and correct deficiencies.
