This National Guard position is for a Administrative Officer, Position Description Number NGD2368000 and is part of 114 FW in Sioux Falls, SD. This is a Title 32, excepted service position. ** NOTE: An AGR announcement will be running concurrently. AREA(S) OF CONSIDERATION: - All members of the South Dakota Air National Guard or those eligible to become a member.
NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Rank: Officer up to Lt Col. AFSC Requirement: 97E0. Military grade inversion within the full-time work force is not permitted. The military grade of the full-time supervisor must equal or exceed the military grade of personnel supervised. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education or training in managing or directing, one or more programs, including appropriate supporting service organizations. Supervisory, managerial, professional or technical work experience and/or training which has provided knowledge of management principles, practices, methods and techniques. Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Must have experience, education, or training using quantitative and qualitative techniques for analyzing and measuring the effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of administrative and technical programs. Experience developing the mission and work processes of programs throughout the military organization and multi-level agencies. Experience in analytical and investigative techniques. SUPERVISORY SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed. Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel. Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities (KSAs): Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit a separate sheet(s) addressing the Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) and how they relate to work experience, education or training. Knowledge of internal systems and procedures for carrying out the organization's administrative functions meet the requirements of balancing costs, benefits, productivity, efficiency, and effectiveness. Skill to research, review, and analyze processes and procedures to determine the overall applicability, effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of activities and programs and makes recommendations that increase efficiency. Skill to provide oversight, coordination and collaboration as it pertains to protocol functions. Skill to collaborate and consult with Wing Public Affairs Officer (PAO), drafts, develops, and finalizes narrative, prepares and coordinates news releases with State JFHQ to support communication with local media, high-ranking public officials, corporate leadership, civic groups, other reserve components, Air Force, Army, National Guard Bureau (NGB) and respective headquarters staff representatives.
As an Administrative Officer, GS-0341-12, you will: This position is located in the Wing Headquarters of an Air National Guard (ANG) Wing. This is an Air National Guard (ANG) Dual Status Technician position requiring military membership, compatible military skill assignment, and classification. The purpose of this position is to provide subject matter expertise, leadership, consultation, collaboration, and advisory services essential to the direction and efficient operation of the organization. Directly assist leaders with the management of key day to day planning, public affairs, process improvement, protocol, operations and special projects at the highest level of the organization. Collaborates and coordinates assigned functions with managers, office of primary responsibility, leaders and supervisors; participate with management to address and resolve issues, as well as provide recommendations for correcting or improving the organizations overall program management, efficiency and effectiveness. This position reports directly to the Wing Commander.
