You will serve as a RIGGER in the Fleet Readiness Center East (FRCE) of FLTREADCEN EAST.
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the job elements and screen out listed below. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: 1) Plan, perform, and direct installation, removal, and repositioning of complex weight handling gear, equipment, machinery, and structural members of buildings. 2) Devise means of moving and controlling movement of heavy equipment through narrow openings or in confined of space. 3) Rig and hang scaffolds and staffing for use of various trades. 4) Attaches appropriate lifting gear and maneuver, tilt, and control load, as necessary, by means of attached lines and rigging, or directs others in these tasks. 5) Performs and directs testing of lifting and handling equipment. I am considered an expert and work with a high degree of independence. You will perform multiple computer entries for work place communication as well as daily workload reporting requirements.
You will work from blueprints, drawing, schematics, and written instructions to fabricate, install, manufacture, and repair standing and running wire cable or fiber rope articles.
You will install beam clamps, gin poles, pad eyes, gallow frames, and other supporting structures or attachments as needed.
You will plan, perform, and direct installation, removal, and repositioning of complex weight handling gear, equipment, machinery, and structural members of buildings.
