This is an interdisciplinary position and may be filled by a General Engineer (0801-series), a Mechanical Engineer (0830-series), an Electrical Engineer (0850-series), a Computer Engineer (0854-series), an Electronics Engineer (0855-series), an Aerospace Engineer (0861-series), a General Physical Scientist (1301-series), a Physicist (1310-series), an Operations Research Analyst (1515-series), a Mathematician (1520-series), or a Computer Scientist (1550-series) depending upon the qualifications of the candidate. In addition to the basic education requirement, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at the ND-03 pay band (GS 9-11 equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional engineer or scientist with experience in test and evaluation of software systems. Examples of qualifying experience may include: Experience in planning, conducting, and reporting the results of test and evaluation of software and hardware systems. Experience leading a team of test and evaluation personnel, delegating tasks, and fostering collaboration. You will serve as a Test and Evaluation Engineer to plan and conduct testing on advanced weapon control systems that include both software and hardware and are crucial for enabling next generation weapons.
You will collaborate across all functional areas within the organization and among external stakeholders.
You will support the development of testable requirements and project test strategies.
You will use advanced techniques and knowledge to develop and document methodologies for weapon systems testing and evaluation independently.
You will conduct test evaluation of weapon control systems during development and prior to formal release both in the laboratory and in the field independently.
You will analyze and report the results of software, hardware, or interoperability testing without supervision.
You will work with hardware and software developers to troubleshoot, provide feedback, and offer recommendations for issues found during testing and report results through documentation and tickets.
