This position may be filled using Direct Hire Authority: Z5CAV/Direct-Hire Authority (Certain DoD Personnel) PL 118-31, Sec 125OB (i)(2), 12/22/2023.This position is being filled under the memorandum from the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness (USD(P&R)) "Expansion of Direct Hire Authority for Certain Personnel of the Department of Defense," dated August 12,2024.
You may qualify at the GS 15 , if you fulfill the following qualifications: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service, military or private sector: Performing staff level work at the Joint Staff, Combatant Command (CCMD), Senior Military Service, or Government Agency level Leading and managing high level organizational leadership experience in an organization of greater than 100 employees Executing and supporting Chemical Biological Defense Program related work including program oversight, requirements coordination, and technical integration Applying DoD's Programming, Planning, Budgeting, and Execution processes, and utilizing the Defense Acquisition System to support planning and execution Leading and managing organizational efforts to include development of strategic plans, engagements with external partners, and operations. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
As a Supervisory Warfighter Integration Specialist at the GS-0301-15 some of your typical work assignments may include: Serves as the Chief, Strategic Plans, Engagements, and Operations (CBCO) in the Chemical/Biological Technologies Department (CB), Research and Development Directorate (RD) and supervises a staff of civilian and military scientists, engineers, and analysts in the development and execution of a warfighter concepts, assessment, and demonstration portfolio IAW fiscal and program policy and objectives. Fosters strategic partnerships with the warfighter community involved in science and technology for chemical and biological defense. Supports the CB Director and helps enhance technologies and delivers innovative DoD operational capabilities that address real-world challenges. Responsible for all future planning efforts for the Department in support of the CBDP and in support of the agency to prevent, detect, and mitigate current and emerging biological and chemical threats to warfighters. Serves as a recognized technical authority and consultant, both within and outside the organization, in a broad range of technology and concepts related to the integration of new technologies to the warfighter.
